i wonder where the past two months went to, cos it seriously passed too quickly. i seriously wonder what i have done, yet on hindsight, this seems to be one of my busiest holidays.
i had one of my most memorable and amazing experience, climbing mt kinabalu. i don't even know how i managed it. on some days, it was so terrible and arduous that i wanted to give up every step of the way and just stop in the middle of nowhere. guess it was a matter of gritting-your-teeth, going step by step and just not giving up. also, the motivation and encouragement from the team helped a lot, more so than i guess u guys can imagine. sometimes all it takes is to hear something like jiayou! or we're reaching soon! to infinitely lift the spirits. haha.
though the experience was tiring, challenging and whatnot, it was also great, amazing, fun, memorable, incredible, unbelievable, (you get the idea). but for now, i'm not even going to think of attempting another mountain. once is enough. i may change my mind in the future though.
yet another great experience, the japan-thailand trip. to me personally, one of the highlights of the trip was disneyland! =P guess i'm still a kid at heart. disneyland's amazing. it's so beautiful (all man made artificial beauty but yea) and magical. kinda like living in a fairytale. i love the cinderella castle! also, the alice in wonderland theme was so cute and whimsical, kinda like how i imagined it would be. i went for the haunted mansion ride (a whooping queuing time of 2 hours plus). it was very large scale (i think) and elaborate and some of the effects were quite nice, although it's erm not scary. at all. ahahhaa. i liked the banquet scene a lot though, with the grand set up in a huuge hall complete with chandeliers and flowers and food and apparitions dancing around. nice! also went for the pirates of the carribean ride. the wax figures of jack sparrow look exactly like the real character! seriously. kinda scary but still, lots of jack sparrow, i like =P. also went for other random rides.. most of them quite fun, but no scary ones.
oh and i <3 my mickey mouse beanie =PP disneyland rocks la. i shall go to the original one sometime next time. whee.
japan's nice. the weather's nice and cold, very appreciative of that since i come from the sweltering hot sg. i felt the trip passed like a flash, and i can only remember in random bits and pieces. i can't remember in chronological order cos everything comes flooding in at the same time. but 2 things. i don't like some of the food we had there. some of the food were prepared in advance, so by the time we get there, it was cold and rather unappetizing. luckily for me, i like the japanese short grain rice and the miso soup, so with these two items (which are available almsot every meal), i'm kept rather happy. japan has very good snacks. i loveee the pocky there cos it's much cheaper and there's an amazing variety. i reckoned we ate pocky everyday or so, and whatever flavour i could find i bought! also, the instant noodles there are super good! (of course, they were the pioneers haha) luuv them.
oh and japan's toilets rock. damn clean... im so impressed. their toilets are amazing la (realise this word keeps coming up). there are seat warmers, bidets, flushing sounds and u can adjust the temperate of the seat and water and volume of the flushing sound and whatnot. super cool.
argh im rather lazy already... other than abovementioned, i also took a short trip to msia with the extended family. so fun. talking, yakking, playing cards, tong xiao, shopping, blah blah.. done tgt with a big group. rather fun.
ahh ok i shall just stop. i don't even make sense, i think.
