i happened to pick up a book by lawrence block about bernie rhodenbarr, a bookseller by day and burglar by night. it's a mystery book (my fav genre!). with a protagonist like that, needless to say, the book was light-hearted, interesting and funny. just like how i like books to be. shall check out more of his books. yay.

had a rather eventful weekend. i shall try to summarise as briefly as i can.

on sat, had training, no surprise there. jiaen and i tried an AK! omg it was so kewl. it was very unstable. had to keep slapping water. there were some nice saves man. but in the end we still capped thrice. oh well, it's natural i guess. i noticed that i've become a lot better in climbing back to the boat after a capsize. i used to be very bad at it and always had to attempt it a few times before im finally back on the boat. but i don't cap often cos i'm mostly on a t1! haha. but trying a AK was coool. it was so light and could glide very well. that is, if we managed to let it glide. it happened, but those times were few and far between. but oh well, jiayou! we can do it!

after that, we did k4, xinhui, jacq, jiaen and me. after the AK, K4 suddenly felt so stable. it was rather hard to paddle cos coordination was quite hard and we were all rather tired. but it felt quite good sometimes, when we were coordinated. haha. jiayou K4!!! all the way!

on sunday. rather more interesting.

tuition class, i learnt one thing, that i have low tolerance for alcohol. drank a lil bit of white wine, red wine, dessert wine, ice wine and XO. sounds a lot but it actually isn't much. then i got SUPER red and kinda tipsy. could feel a mild throbbing in the head and my face plus arms felt very hot. felt very sleepy as well. now i know why u can't drink and drive. i really felt sluggish and had very slow reflexes ahaha (highly evident during the table soccer game). just realised i cannot be an alcoholic. unlike a certain ellen. also had bakkwa and other kinds of food. the bakkwa was soo good... needless to say, during the lesson, not many could pay full attention. and i am soo not the only one tipsy and red k! and i did not just drink a lil, it was more than that k. i'm not that bad with alcohol. anyway, i wasnt drunk. i was fully aware of what i was doing, and i could walk in a straight line. AHAHAHA.

speaking a of certain ellen, SHE IS HERE! finally! havent seen her for sooo long. the three of us met up. havent seen yy for very very long too!! omg i miss them both so much. it was very long since we last met up but it felt like we never did leave those sec sch yrs (maybe it's only me). other than ellen having aussie accent and dyed hair, it feels so similar to last time, which is great. we ate at sun with moon, which was ex but great! so yummy!!! then we went borders and ellen bought a book (i think i'm going to buy it too =P). we then made our way to heeren to take neoprints! it's been so long since i last took a neoprint, and i believe i've never taken a neoprint with the two! it was great fun, and everything turned out pink and shiny. HAHA. we also talked and had doughnuts specially brought over from aussie. KRISPY KREME! yay. the box was almost squashed and the donuts were in rather bad state, but it was still lovely anyway... thanks ellen! i can't believe she's here and finally being able to meet us instead of just msn-ing. remember, sushi buffet, kbox, shopping... !

i'm feeling happy! love you guyssss!!!!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

past few day's been enjoyable and rather fun. on cny eve we had a nice cosy reunion dinner at my house where we had steamboat. i love steamboat, especially the soup! i can totally ignore every other mouthwatering dishes and just drink bowls of the flavourful soup. <3 on the first day (chu yi) some relatives came over, but the highlight of the day was watching cj7 with a whole bunch of the extended family. the movie's quite nice. i like the dog/fluff ball cross aka cj7, it is super cute. and like other typical stephen chow's films, it has its prerequisite comedic moments. i especially like the part where they parodied kung fu hustle, when the boy put on magic shoes (in a dream) and flew up to the sky, stopped, met an eagle, then descended to the ground and using the ru lai shen zhang or something. priceless. the movie was quite sad too. i had to hold back tears when the dad died despite knowing he would be revived. haha. overall it is not too bad. oh, i admire stephen chow's knack for spotting pretty young girls and casting them in his films, who would refuse anyway.... kitty zhang at a tender age of just 19 (i am soo envious! haha) is very very pretty. and the little boy which is a girl (haha)... too amazing.

on the second day (chu er), we went to wai gong's house. er, nothing to say, haha. later we went to ah mai's house, where there was a fine spread waiting for us. haha ok la not really but the food was good! for the first part of the day we were totally whiling out time away while watching some lame variety show special, because there wasn't much to do. first we planned on watching sweeney todd but the plans were nought as we had to take into account a young cousin of 12 who certainly could not pass off as 18. then we wanted to watch ah long pte ltd, but that did not materialise either because the queue at ps was too long and there were no available timeslots, the only one available was selling fast. but that kind of was a blessing in disguise, because forced into boredom (haha) we played blackjack at very small stakes of about 10 cents to a dollar (and i still lost!) it was good cousin-cousin interaction (haha!) though.

chu san. we had training on that day. i had expected mac to be very empty but to my slight surprise, it was filled with boats just like any other sat. slavedrivers. hahaha. it was a rather terrible training. the wind was so strong. and the waves... the conditions threatened to make all technique go haywire, which it did. and there were boats capping periodically, especially during the waiting part before the racesets. haha. so it was quite demoralising overall. but at least there was hmm something good... all land programs were waived! oh then after training, on a whim i went with some teammates to west mall to eat. like, it's so far and there are so many good places to eat nearby. but i realised it isnt so far afterall, took only abt 20 minutes to get back, i expected more.

so now it's sunday and i'm wasting my time and life away. sigh i should really get to doing vectors 4 and a couple of other stuff that should be done soon. as well as studying for spa and all. upcoming week looks interesting, with cross country coming up. valentine's day too. the day of lurvvve. HAHA.

ok tata.
