had mr 500 on saturday. it was a loong day. we started out eager and fresh and all geared up to support and cheer our lungs out for all our team mates. by the time noon hit, we were all sluggish and tired, and the extremely hot day didnt help. (but we still cheered for the team of course!) i swear, one can experience the greenhouse effect inside the tent we pitched. there was no air circulation whatsoever inside. after a while we all gave up and got out of the tent, finding it more comfortable to sit outside in a shady area. some of us planned to mug and the enthusiastic start gave way to eventually giving up. haha.
our race was in the afternoon at 3.50. by that time i felt so tired (the temp and humidity were really getting to me) that i didnt feel like racing anymore... of cos when we were in the waters it was an entirely different story. the wind was blowing away ever so gaily which made the waters so choppy. (at times like this, i'm reminded of how much i love mac and its waters. luckily we were on a tiger.) then i guess some of the adrenaline came and we were all geared up and ready to do our very best, then... at the start, jiaen's paddle got stuck in some seaweed (haha) which resulted in the other boats having a headstart. but after that all was fine... or so we thought. (ok we didnt burst) shall have to watch the vid to find out.
after the races were over and we moved the boats to mac (sitting in the lorry was fun!), hx treated us to pizza hut! (some thanks to huiwen who sorta helped us to get the treat) we had a nice satisfying meal. we even played zhongjimima and some of them mixed up some rather gross stuff as forfeit. during the last few games we tried ways and means to ensure hx "zhong-ed" even trying to resort to 'cheating' but in the end there wasnt really a need for it cos he still guessed the number anyway. =P we had lotsa fun. (at the expense of some money from hx hehe) =)
my very eventful day isn't over yet. i still had huang cheng to go to. needless to say, i was very very late. reached there at around 9, and to my pleasant surprise, i arrived before the intermission which meant i still had a complete show to watch. went there in the shabbiest of clothes: orientation tee and fbts. omg i felt soo supremely underdressed, looking at the others all dressed so prettily in heels and dresses and at least in anything better than what i was wearing. luckily i was even allowed to enter the theatre. oh and i can't believe i went for huang cheng alone AGAIN. sigh but it was ok since i like watching concerts and performances and you don't really talk during these. the last play was pretty enjoyable. the storyline was interesting. too bad i missed the first two. but i certainly could not pass up a treat like that!
